JETS Loses Lead Early In Defeat
JETS watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-9 loss to New Haven on Friday. New Haven scored on a home run by Angel Defederico, a double by T Jordan, a groundout by T Reed, a double by G Delong, a single by C Jackson, a single by Augie Difederico, and a single by Defederico in the first inning.
JETS collected 13 hits and New Haven had 15 in the high-scoring affair.
New Haven opened up scoring in the first inning. Defederico homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
JETS notched five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a sac fly by Dalton Gerber, a home run by Parker Bates, and a double by Jaxson Rinkenberger.
Reed got the win for New Haven. He surrendered six runs on eight hits over three and a third innings, striking out one. K Keele and Delong entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Lucas Van De Weg took the loss for JETS. He surrendered seven runs on six hits over two-thirds of an inning, walking one.
JETS smacked one home run on the day. Bates put one out in the fourth inning.
JETS tallied 13 hits in the game. Jalen Hammond, Chase Peterson, Kevin Brown, and Will Hamilton all managed multiple hits for JETS. Hammond led JETS with three hits in five at bats. JETS was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Hamilton made the most plays with five.
New Haven racked up 15 hits. Defederico, Keele, Reed, Delong, and Difederico each collected multiple hits for New Haven. New Haven didn’t commit a single error in the field. Defederico had the most chances in the field with seven.
