JETS Overcomes Winchester Community In Face Of Early 4-Run Inning
JETS managed through a push by Winchester Community in the first inning where JETS coughed up four runs, but JETS still won 15-5 on Wednesday. The offensive onslaught by Winchester Community was led by R Culy and T Stevenson, all knocking in runs in the inning.
JETS secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the third inning. JETS offense in the inning was led by Jaxson Rinkenberger, Will Hamilton, Parker Bates, Jalen Hammond, Colton Yergler, and Rinkenberger, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
JETS got on the board in the first inning when Hammond singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
JETS put up nine runs in the third inning. Rinkenberger, Hamilton, Bates, Hammond, Yergler, and Rinkenberger all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Chase Murray took the win for JETS. He lasted one and one-third innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out three and walking one. Dalton Gerber, Nathan Maldeney, and Kevin Brown all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
P Sheets took the loss for Winchester Community. He lasted two innings, allowing ten hits and 12 runs while striking out one.
JETS smacked one home run on the day. Bates went for the long ball in the third inning.
JETS tallied 12 hits on the day. Yergler, Bates, and Hammond each had multiple hits for JETS. Bates and Yergler each collected three hits to lead JETS. JETS didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hammond had the most chances in the field with nine.
Burlison went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Winchester Community in hits.
