Jets XC had a great day under excellent conditions at the Marion IWU Cross Country Invite. Kaidenn Arnold brought home some hardware with a season-best 18:37, only 8 seconds off his career-best, finishing 24th place. Korbin Connelley was close behind with a 19:13; nine seconds off of his career-best. Klayton Terrell took over one minute off of his career-best from two weeks ago finishing at 19:37. Evan McAfee chopped 45 seconds off of his career-best with a final time of 19:45. Carter Steele rounded out the scoring on the day with a time of 19:51. Jackson Shoaf, Tyler Ausland, and Andrew Schwartz did a great job running as a team for the first two miles and then started their individual racing in the last 1.1 miles. Jackson and Tyler had career days with times of 21:32 and 21:49 respectively. Andrew, still recovering from sickness, finished in a respectable 21:56. Logan Clark had the biggest improvement on the day registering a time of 22:54; 2 minutes and 50 seconds faster than his previous career-best.
The Jets will see their next action at the Randolph Southern Invite next Saturday. There are spectator restrictions next week. Each runner is only allowed to invite 2 spectators.
