Jets stole the lead late and defeated New Haven 12-2 on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Jets batting in the bottom of the fourth when an error scored one run for Jets.
Jets secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the fourth inning. Jets offense in the inning was led by Kam Brown, Blake Heyerly, Justin Bultemeier, Mason Deroo, Ethan Brown, and Brown, who each had RBIs in the inning.
New Haven fired up the offense in the first inning, when Cannon singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Braysen Yergler toed the rubber for Jets. He went five innings, allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out seven.
Cannon was on the pitcher’s mound for New Haven. He allowed ten hits and 11 runs over four innings, striking out one. Hemegan threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Jets racked up 11 hits. Deroo and Alex Currie each racked up multiple hits for Jets. Currie and Deroo each managed two hits to lead Jets. Jets didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bultemeier had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
New Haven had eight hits in the game. Kortenber and Immroth all collected multiple hits for New Haven.
