Jets Grabs Lead In Seventh Inning To Defeat Mississinewa

Jets nabbed the lead late in the game in a 14-12 victory over Mississinewa on Monday. Jets was down 12-11 in the top of the seventh inning when Jaren Hildebrand homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
A six-run lead in the fourth inning was just enough for Jets to hold off Mississinewa for the victory. Mississinewa tallied seven runs in the failed comeback. Yoder, O’Banion, Swanner, Bailey, Swanner, and Bailey came through with RBIs to lead the rally.
Jets took an early lead in the second inning. Alex Currie doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
Mississinewa evened things up at 11 in the bottom of the fifth inning. Swanner’s sac fly scored one run for Mississinewa.
After Jets scored three runs in the top of the third, Mississinewa answered with three of their own. Jets scored when Currie’s sac fly scored one run for Jets and Blake Heyerly lined out, driving in a run. Mississinewa then answered when Yoder hit a solo homer and Young doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Jets notched six runs in the second inning. Chase Murray, Currie, Heyerly, Ethan Brown, and Ryan Black each had RBIs in the big inning.
Mississinewa scored five runs in the fourth inning. Yoder, O’Banion, Swanner, and Bailey each drove in runs during the inning.
Hildebrand earned the win for Jets. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, walking zero. Black and Murray entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Rock was on the pitcher’s mound for Mississinewa. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing one hit and five runs while striking out one. Bailey, Brown, and Williams each contributed in relief for Mississinewa.
Justin Bultimier started the game for Jets. The righthander surrendered five runs on four hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two
Jets launched one home run on the day. Hildebrand had a homer in the seventh inning.
Jets totaled six hits in the game. Currie and Hildebrand each collected multiple hits for Jets. Hildebrand and Currie each collected two hits to lead Jets.
Mississinewa tallied 11 hits on the day. Bailey, Yoder, and Swanner all managed multiple hits for Mississinewa. Bailey led Mississinewa with three hits in three at bats.
