Black Delivers Four Hits To Jets Victory Over Whitko
Ryan Black was in the zone on Friday, tallying four hits and leading Jets to a 20-7 win over Whitko. Black singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fifth, and doubled in the sixth.
Bats blistered as Jets collected 16 hits and Whitko tallied two in the high-scoring game.
In the first inning, Jets got their offense started when Justin Bultemeier singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Jets notched five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a single by Braydon LIght, an error on a ball put in play by Kam Brown, and a double by Black.
Jaren Hildebrand was credited with the victory for Jets. Hildebrand lasted four innings, allowing two hits and six runs while striking out five. Chase Murray threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Tucker took the loss for Whitko. The pitcher allowed six hits and seven runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.
Jets tallied 16 hits. Black, Blake Heyerly, Murray, and Alex Currie all managed multiple hits for Jets. Black led Jets with four hits in five at bats. Bultemeier led Jets with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.
Platt went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Whitko in hits.
