In Walkoff, Jets Loses To Norwell
A walk-off left Jets on the wrong end of a 13-12 defeat to Norwell on Wednesday. The game was tied at 12 with Norwell batting in the bottom of the eighth when Caleb Kohler singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Logan Macklin collected four hits in defeat. Macklin singled in the second, homered in the third, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.
Jets captured the lead in the second inning when an error scored two runs for Jets.
Jets evened things up at 12 in the top of the seventh inning when Garrison Brege induced Chase Peterson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Jets put up four runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught by Jets was led by Brandon Bultimier, Jalen Hammond, and Peterson, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Norwell scored seven runs in the third inning. The big inning for Norwell came thanks to a walk by Logan House, a single by Levi Leidig, a home run by Leidig, an error on a ball put in play by Garrett Weybright, and a double by Ian Clark.
Brege got the win for Norwell. He allowed two hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three. House threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Peterson took the loss for Jets. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out six.
Beldon Glasgow started the game for Norwell. He surrendered four runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Bultimier started the game for Jets. He surrendered eight runs on 11 hits over two and a third innings, striking out two and walking one.
Jets tallied nine hits on the day. Macklin, Hammond, and Jaxson Rinkenberger each racked up multiple hits for Jets. Macklin went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Jets in hits
