Jets wins contest against Bluffton, 5-3
Jets got things started in the first inning. Blake Heyerly tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Bluffton knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the first inning, when Riley drew a walk, scoring one run.
Jets pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Drayer induced Justin Bultemeier to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Jaren Hildebrand toed the rubber for Jets. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out three.
King was on the hill for Bluffton. He allowed one hit and two runs over three innings, striking out three. Drayer threw four innings in relief.
Heyerly went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Jets in hits. Jets stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Ethan Brown led the way with two.
Bluffton didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bueter had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
